Bidding Process

 

Want to place a bid at our auction?

We provide a thorough bidding service to make sure that you don’t miss out on the opportunity to place a bid on a fantastic property.

 

We offer three methods for bidding:

  • Telephone – a member of our auctions team will call you live from the auction room and bid on your instruction.
  • Internet - You can watch the auction live and place bids online.
  • Proxy – you can grant permission to an auctioneer to place a bid up to a predetermined amount on your behalf.

 

How to register for bidding

To bid you must register online. To ensure a successful bidding registration you will need to provide the following information:

  • Details of all bidders/buyers/deposit payers
  • Identification documents
  • Details of your solicitor

 

Once we have received your bidding request a member of the century 21 team will get in contact with you.

 

Bidding Online

  • On the auction day, visit our website and follow the links to bid on/watch the auction.
  • Once the lot(s), that you registered to bid on, comes up use the increments that the auctioneer introduces and you will be able to interactively place your bid.
  • We strongly advise that you make sure you have a stable and reliable internet connection before joining the online auction.

 

Bidding by telephone

  • Please ensure that the contact number you registered with is the same one that you wish to be contacted with on the auction day.
  • A century 21 approved bidder will call you when the lot/lots you registered to bid on come up in the auction. You can check which lot we are on at any given time through our website which follows the auction live.
  • your appointed telephone bidder will relay increments as they occur in the room, and enquire as to whether you would like to bid, upon your instruction they will then place bids.
  • We strongly suggest watching the auction live from our website to help you get a better idea of what is going on in the room.

 

If you are successful

  • If your bid is accepted, you will be required to pay a deposit of 10% of the purchase price together with our buyers fee (£250 including VAT below £20,000 and £1,750 including VAT at and above £20,000.) This will be payable on the auction day via bank transfer.
  • You can only bid on lots that you have registered on. To bid on more lots, after you have registered to bid, simply go to My Account > Auction Approvals.
  • If you have bid on several lots on telephone, you will be contacted before each one.
  • Please ensure that you have provided all the required information and ID before submitting for registration. As if this isn’t done your account won’t be activated.
